The Mountain Flower Art Festival (MFAF) is a juried fine arts festival located on the historic square of the scenic mountain village of Dahlonega, Georgia. A fine arts festival has been on the square now for 20 years.

There are a number of fine artists and crafters displaying their original handcrafed art, ranging from watercolors, painters, potters, silversmiths, photographers to weavers. There will also be various performing artists playing during the weekend on the square.

The Fine Art & Fine Crafts Fair will also include a Garden Expo at Hancock Park presented by the Master Gardeners of Lumpkin County which includes a Plant Sale, demonstrations, Wildflower Walk and aWildflower Display

Schedule for the Garden Expo
at Handcock Park (just off the square in Dahlonega) the Garden Expo is producted by the Master Gardeners of Lumpkin County with the support of the MFAF.
The Expo included a large plant and seed sale and speakers presenting programs on various topics. Also available at the festival will be a demonstration garden of native plants, wildflower walks, and children's activities.


SATURDAY, MAY 17, 9 AM TO 5 PM
10-5 ART VENDORS on the town square
9-5 PLANT SALE, CLINIC, and NATIVE PLANT DISPLAY in the park
10-5 CHILDRENS SEED PLANTING with Paula and Bob Allen, Master Gardeners
10am PLAYING IN THE DIRT program on soil types by Sarah Sosebee, Master
Gardener and co-owner of Cherokee Sand and Topsoil.
11am WILDFLOWER WALK - meet at Hancock Park. Marilyn Oberhausen, M/G, will
lead walk at Yahoola Park trails. Directions to walk area will be available then.
11am MAKING TROUGH GARDENS hands on demonstration in the park by Carol Dyer, Master Gardener with years of experience in making Trough Gardens and Containers. Nine participants will make and take home a trough for nominal fee.
12noon SAVING WATER program by Charles Shell, Master Gardener.
1pm TOUR OF THE NATIVE PLANT DISPLAY with discussion lead by Robbie Wehunt, creator of the display and lifetime Master Gardener.
2pm CONTAINER GARDENING program by Nancy Sommers, Master Gardener and years of experience in making and planting container gardens.
3pm MAKING TROUGH GARDENS (see Sat. 11 am)
4pm GROWING NATIVE PLANTS program by Eulene Poore and Robbie Wehunt, lifetime Master Gardeners with years of experience with native plants
SUNDAY, MAY 18, 10 AM TO 4 PM

10-4 PLANT SALE, CLINIC, and NATIVE PLANT DISPLAY in the Park
12 noon SEED COLLECTION AND STORAGE by Connie Monroe, Master Gardener and seed collector.
1pm WILDFLOWER WALK - meet at Hancock Park. Marilyn Oberhausen, M/G, will lead walk at Yahoola Park Trails. Directions to walk area will be available then.
1pm MAKING TROUGH GARDENS (see Sat. 11am)
1-4 CHILDRENS SEED PLANTING with Paula and Bob Allen, Master Gardeners

3pm HEMLOCKS and the WOOLY ADELGID by Sarah Osicka, the NGCSU Predator
Beetle Lab Coordinator.
