April showers bring May flowers!
The Arts Council, the Dahlonega Merchants Association and Lumpkin County Bank have collaborated to create a new festival on the third weekend in May with a new face and a new name: The Mountain Flower Art Festival.
The first annual Mountain Flower Art Festival will bloom Saturday and Sunday May 20-21, 2006, from 10-5pm both days. This event will have all of the elements of the old Wildflower Festival, and more!
- An expanded selection of arts and crafts including many of the vendors seen here year after year.
- The Master Gardeners Garden Expo, a plant sale and demonstrations with other special features.l
- Shag dancing under the stars on Shag Alley sponsored by Mountain Laurel Creek Inn and Spa.
- This year look for the festival to include more interactive events and opportunities to learn about the wild world around us.
- Artists Reception Friday night, May 19 at the Olde Cannery Arts Center presented by the Dahlonega Arts Council.

Deadline: All entry request forms must be received no later than May 1, 2006.
As a general rule, any 2 or 3D original artwork created by artist submitting work. Artwork to be considered is: Original 2D & 3D artwork, painting, water color, photography, pottery, basket making, weaving, fiber arts, quilting & folk art. All must be original and fine quality. Criteria used to evaluate entries will include original handcrafted art & craft, created by the artist, quality of craftsmanship. All work must be handmade by the artist submitting the application. Only product types presented for the jury process can be sold at the festival.The number of spaces will be limited at our festival. The festival intends to present a full cross section of art & craft media.
Submission of Work: Photos or slides must be submitted, and show a minimum of three pieces representative of the artist's work to be offered at the
